Because we also do tree work, we can clear trees, stumps and structures on the same lot, which is useful when preparing a property for a rebuild.
What residential demolition involves
Demolition starts well before the excavator arrives. Utilities need to be disconnected, permits obtained and the site checked for anything that must be handled separately, such as asbestos-containing materials in older buildings.
On the day, the structure is taken down with an excavator and debris is loaded directly into dumpsters or trucks for disposal. Foundations, slabs and driveways can be broken out and removed as part of the scope.

Practical considerations
Permits
Demolition of a structure normally requires a permit. Requirements vary by county; check with Anne Arundel County or the relevant authority before work is scheduled.
Utilities and hazardous materials
Electric, gas and water must be disconnected by the relevant providers. Older buildings may need to be surveyed for asbestos before demolition.
Waterfront lots
Work close to tidal water may involve additional Critical Area requirements, including erosion and sediment controls.

Demolition & Hauling questions
Do I need a permit to demolish a house or shed?
Most structural demolition requires a permit, and some smaller outbuildings may as well. Rules vary by county, so check with Anne Arundel County or your local authority.
Can you remove trees on the same lot?
Yes. Combining tree, stump and structure removal on one lot is one of the main reasons customers use us for demolition.
Do you haul away the debris?
Yes. Debris is loaded into dumpsters or trucks and hauled away as part of the job.
